Lynn Seguin report/s the discovery of a new astronomical transient.

IAU Designation: AT 2000gm
Coordinates (J2000): RA = 12:59:46.462 (194.943592412) DEC = -03:26:41.14 (-3.444761206)
Discovery date: 2000-02-12 11:12:30.000 (JD=2451586.9670139)

Potential host galaxy: SDSS J125946.18-032638.1
Host redshift: 0.132286

Remarks: This transient was first observed in a discussion started by Lynn Seguin on the Galaxy Zoo website here: CeciliaB, Alexander Jonkeren, Jose Campos and Yannis Epitropoulos (username QuadSun) also took part in the discussion. The transient is listed as galaxy SDSS J125946.46-032641.1 but is not present in later DECaLS or Pan-STARRS surveys.

Discovery (first detection):
Discovery date: 2000-02-12 11:12:30.000
Flux: 19.69 ABMag
Filter: r-Sloan
Instrument: SDSS-Spec
Telescope: Sloan Digital Sky Survey

Remarks: The r-band Apparent magnitude was taken from SDSS photometry. The r-band Absolute magnitude of -19.16 was also calculated.

Last non-detection:
