Ine Theunissen report/s the discovery of a new astronomical transient.

IAU Designation: AT 2004ix
Coordinates (J2000): RA = 08:32:38.201 (128.15917) DEC = +18:42:27.72 (18.707699)
Discovery date: 2004-12-12 09:26:10.000 (JD=2453351.8931713)

Potential host galaxy: SDSS J083237.90+184223.4
Host redshift: 0.129892

Remarks: This transient was first observed on the Galaxy Zoo website here: https://www.zooniverse.org/projects/zookeeper/galaxy-zoo/talk/subjects/36228534. The transient in SDSS is listed as a star (SDSS J083238.20+184227.7), but is not visible in the later surveys DECaLS and PanSTARRS.

Discovery (first detection):
Discovery date: 2004-12-12 09:26:10.000
Flux: 19.38 ABMag
Filter: r-Sloan
Instrument: SDSS-Spec
Telescope: Sloan Digital Sky Survey

Remarks: The r-band Apparent magnitude was calculated by Richard Nowell using APT and reference star: SDSS J083239.96+184302.5 http://skyserver.sdss.org/dr14/en/tools/explore/Summary.aspx?id=1237667255603495173. The r-band Absolute magnitude of -19.43 was also calculated.
