Ine Theunissen-Limpens report/s the discovery of a new astronomical transient.

IAU Designation: AT 2005nj
Coordinates (J2000): RA = 15:25:51.357 (231.463988) DEC = +13:15:00.65 (13.25018)
Discovery date: 2005-05-10 10:22:30.000 (JD=2453500.9322917)

Potential host galaxy: SDSS J152551.89+131507.0
Host redshift: 0.07408

Remarks: This transient was first noticed by Ine Theunissen in a discussion started by participant AstroGordo on the Galaxy Zoo website here: This transient is listed in SDSS as Type=Star (SDSS J152551.35+131500.6), but it is not visible in the DECaLS or Pan-STARRS surveys from a decade later. Participants Averil Drummond and Sylvia Beer also took part in the discussion.

Discovery (first detection):
Discovery date: 2005-05-10 10:22:30.000
Flux: 20.17 ABMag
Filter: r-Sloan
Instrument: SDSS-Spec
Telescope: Sloan Digital Sky Survey

Remarks: The r-band Apparent magnitude was taken from the SDSS Explorer page for SDSS J152551.35+131500.6 ( An r-band Absolute magnitude of -17.38 was also calculated.
