Type: SN II
Redshift: 0.007

Remarks: Using Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 119) we find a good spectral fit to the Type II SN 1999em at +4 days (see related file). A narrow H-alpha emission line from the underlying host corresponds to a redshift of z=0.007, which is the same as that of the neighboring galaxy GALEXASC J115153.52-132447.1 (HIPASS Catalog 2006 via NED).
