Emmanuel Conseil report/s the discovery of a new astronomical transient.

Host redshift: 0.0214

Remarks: Emmanuel Conseil on behalf of the TAROT Collaboration reports the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag about 16.9 +/- 0.3) on 2016-02-20T02:15:17.383 using public images of the 0.25m robotic telescope TAROT La Silla observatory, Chile. SN is located at about R.A. = 02h49m36.01s, Decl. = -31o13'23.9" (equinox J2000.0). The supernova does not appear in an image taken 2015-12-21. The transient also appears on 4 images taken with the same telescope taken on 2016-02-21T02:06.
