TNS Classification Report No. 166 [ 2016TNSCR.236....1H ]
Date Received (UTC): 2016-03-22 22:18:09 Sender: Dr. Griffin Hosseinzadeh
Group: LCOGT SN-KP
Griffin Hosseinzadeh, Iair Arcavi, Stefano Valenti, D. Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully report/s a classification of object: SN 2016bev
Type: SN IIRedshift: 0.011
Remarks: The spectrum has very low signal-to-noise due to moon brightness, but a broad H-alpha P Cygni feature is visible at the redshift of the proposed host galaxy (z=0.011; Takata et al. 1994, A&AS, 104, 529, via NED). We therefore classify it as a Type II supernova.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2016-03-22 13:01:09
Instrument: FLOYDS-S
Telescope: Faulkes Telescope South
