Group: ASAS-SN
J. L. Prieto (UDP; MAS), N. Morrell (LCO), B. J. Shappee (Carnegie) report/s a classification of object: SN 2016cdb
Type: SN Ia
Remarks: Optical spectra of the supernova candidates ASASSN-16fd/AT2016cdb (ATel #9057), ASASSN-16fe/AT2016cdc (ATel #9057), ASASSN-16fg/AT2016cky (ATel #9059), and ASASSN-16fl/AT2016cnx (ATel #9079) were obtained on UT 2016 June 10 with WFCCD mounted on the du Pont 2.5-m telescope at Las Campanas Observatory. Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the "Supernova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) show that all 4 transients are Type Ia SNe after maximum light. The spectrum of ASASSN-16fd is most consistent with a Type Ia at +29 days.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
