Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, David Sand, Leonardo TartagliaLCOGT SN-KPSN II0.003468LCOGT SN-KPThe spectrum has developed strong, broad H-alpha and calcium features at the redshift of the host galaxy (z=0.003; HIPASS Catalog via NED) on top of the existing red continuum, consistent with a highly reddened Type II supernova. Using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find good fits between our spectrum from 2016-12-22 (one month after discovery) and several Type II supernovae 2 to 6 weeks after maximum light.2017TNSCR1514....1H

Object coordinates updated according to AT-report 7084 of Group GaiaAlerts
Previous RA, DEC: 04:12:07.620, -32:51:10.93 (63.03175, -32.853036)
Updated RA, DEC: 04:12:07.600, -32:51:10.48 (63.031667, -32.852911)

Please consider this classification provisional. The spectrum was taken at high airmass and the classification is likely to be superseded when spectra obtained at lower airmass are classified.
