PrietoASAS-SNSN IaASAS-SN An optical spectrum obtained on UT 2016 Nov 30.5 with FAST mounted on the FLWO 1.5m telescope shows that ASASSN-16nt/AT2016iol is a normal Type Ia after maximum. We cross-correlated the spectrum with a library of supernova spectra using the "Supernova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024). The spectrum of ASASSN-16nt is most consistent with the spectrum of the normal Type Ia SN2005hf at +11 days after maximum light.
