Coordinates (J2000): RA = 07:45:19.72 (116.332167) DEC = -71:24:17.90 (-71.404972)
Discovery date: 2016-12-19 11:23:45 (JD=2457741.9748264)

Potential host galaxy: NGC2466

Remarks: Stuart Parker, Canterbury, New Zealand, reports the discovery of an apparent supernova (red mag 17.4) on a 30-s unfiltered CCD image (limiting mag 18.5) taken by himself with a 35-cm cassegrain Celestron telescope(+ ST10 camera) at his Parkdale Observatory in the course of the Backyard Observatory Supernova Search.Which is 18E"and 20N"of the nucleus of the galaxy NGC2466. A previous SN was discovered on Discovery date=2016-05-25 09:04:51and posted on the TNS site as 2016cnz RA=07:45:22.97, DEC=-71:24:40.70
