Castellani Flavio report/s the discovery of a new astronomical transient.

IAU Designation: AT 2016ize
Coordinates (J2000): RA = 00:42:46.590 (10.694125) DEC = +41:16:57.80 (41.282722)
Discovery date: 2016-12-21 17:08:00.000 (JD=2457744.2138889)

Potential host galaxy: M31

Remarks: Flavio Castellani report the discovery by R.Belligoli, F.Castellani, C.Marangoni and F.Marziali of a PNV (Mag. 18.50R +-0.15 - USNOB1 catalogue) in the host galaxy M31 at Monte Baldo Observatory, Ferrara di Monte Baldo, Verona, Italy (A99), in the course of Italian Supernovae Search Project using a 0.40m f/8 Ritchey-Chretien telescope (+ Moravian G4-9000 KAF CCD unfiltered CCD camera), in a couple of images taken on Dec. 21.70451 and Dec. 21.72877. No stellar source is visible at the position of the PNV in our last images on Dec. 18.6875. No known minor planets are marked in that position for the time of our observation.
