Type: SN Ia

Remarks: We report the acquisition of a low-S/N CCD spectrum (range 420-700 nm) of SN 2017B, obtained on Jan. 29, 2017 UT with the Shane 3-m reflector (+ Kast spectrograph) at Lick Observatory. Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the "SuperNova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) suggests this observation of SN 2017B best matches a normal type Ia ~1 month after peak.
