7012017-01-08 20:30:40jlprietoJ. L. Prieto, G. SimonianASAS-SNSN IaASAS-SNWe obtained an spectrum of ASASSN-17ae/AT2017ai (ATel #9948) on UT 2017 Jan 7.5 with OSMOS mounted on the MDM 2.4m telescope at KPNO. The spectrum of ASASSN-17ae is that of a normal SN Ia around maximum light. After cross-correlation with a library of SN spectra using SNID, we find that the best fit template is that of the normal SN Ia 2003ch at 0 days. After correcting for the redshift of the host galaxy (z=0.05027), we measure a Si II 635.5 nm expansion velocity from the P-Cygni absorption trough of 10900 km/s.
