G. Hosseinzadeh, S. Valenti, K. A. Bostroem, L. Tartaglia, D. Sand, S. Wyatt, I. Arcavi, D. A. Howell, C. McCully report/s a classification of object: SN 2017ckg

Type: SN II
Redshift: 0.017

Remarks: Unresolved narrow H-alpha emission at the redshift of the proposed host galaxy (z=0.017; Jones et al. 2009, "The 6dF Galaxy Survey Data Release 3," via NED) confirms the transient's association with LCSB S1878P, and a blue continuum and weak broad features consistent with H-alpha and He 587.6 nm suggest the transient is a young Type II supernova.
