Ang Li, Xing Gao report/s the discovery of a new astronomical transient.

Potential host galaxy: M31

Remarks: Ang Li(Shenyang, Liaoning, China) and Xing Gao (Urumqi, Xinjiang, China) report the discovery of a possible nova in M31. The transient (mag approximately 17.5) on 3 x 40s stacked survey image (limiting mag about 19.0) taken by Xing Gao in Xingming Observatory Sky Survey(C42) around Jul. 31.82243 UT using a unfiltered CCD ( + Celestron C14 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope D=356-mm @f/6.9 ). The new object approximately located at R.A.=00h42m47.21s +41d16'51".2 (equinox 2000.0). Which is about 32.6" east and 42.7" north of the center of the NGC224(M31). Nothing is visible at this position on archival images taken on Jul 21.76355 (limiting mag 18.5). All images can be seen from: http://www.xjltp.com/XOSS/XM13AL/XM13AL.htm.
