Prieto (UDP)ASAS-SNSN IIn0.0173ASAS-SNWe obtained an optical spectrum of AT2017hcc on 2017 October 7.4 with FLOYDS mounted on the FTS 2m at the Siding Spring Observatory. The spectrum shows a relatively blue continuum with one strong, resolved emission line at 6676.3 Angstrom with FWHM~44 Angstrom (~2000 km/s). Assuming that this line is likely Halpha, then AT2017hcc is likely a Type IIn SN at z=0.0173.
