Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, Stefano ValentiGlobal SN ProjectSN Ia-91bg-like0.023Global SN ProjectUsing Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 1190), we find a good fit to SN 1991bg at maximum light at the redshift of the proposed host galaxy (z=0.023; Mahdavi & Geller 2004, ApJ, 607, 202 via NED). However, the higher velocities of the observed spectrum and the relatively faint discovery magnitude (M=-16.6 mag) suggest it is before maximum light.
