Clay Sherrod report/s the discovery of a new astronomical transient.

Discovery date: 2018-04-08 06:42:00.000 (JD=2458216.7791667)

Potential host galaxy: ngc3718

Remarks: P. Clay Sherrod, Arkansas Sky Observatories, Petit Jean Mountain, Arkansas, reports possible SN in NGC3718, mag. 19.4 (unfiltered) via CCD obtained 2018 April 08 06:42 UT, using the 0.51m f/5.9 astrograph. Object is located SW of center of NGC 3718, 66.8" in PA 209.7 deg, or at RA 11 32 31.25; DEC +53 03 09.37. Surveys on Jan 3, 2018 and March 13, 2018 reveal no star at this position.
