Remarks: We obtained a low-resolution optical spectrum of ASASSN-18jj/AT2018bej on UT 2018 May 5.0 with a star analyzer 100 l/mm grating on the Meade 40cm telescope at the PUC observatory of Santa Martina, in Santiago, Chile. We obtained 20x45 sec exposures on source. The spectrum shows strong Balmer lines in emission, as well as multiple Fe II and O I features, consistent with a nova in the LMC and with the spectrum reported in ATel #11610 by Chomiuk et al. (2018).

Remarks: The spectrum was normalized by a smooth continuum because we did not obtain flux calibration. We note that the wavelength calibration has some systematic errors in the blue side of the spectrum.
