TNS Classification Report No. 2059 [ 2018TNSCR.693....1H ]
Date Received (UTC): 2018-05-22 22:05:08 Sender: Dr. Daichi Hiramatsu
Group: Global SN Project
Daichi Hiramatsu, Iair Arcavi, Jamison Burke, Griffin Hosseinzadeh, D. Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, Stefano Valenti report/s a classification of object: SN 2018bvi
Type: SN IbRedshift: 0.02417
Remarks: Using Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 1190) and GELATO (Harutyunyan et al., 2008, A&A, 488, 383), we find several good fits to Type Ib around the maximum light at the redshift of proposed host galaxy (z=0.024170; SDSS DR6, via NED). There are some disagreements in the phase, however, the last non-detection limit suggests it is around maximum.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2018-05-22 09:29:00
Instrument: FLOYDS-N
Telescope: Faulkes Telescope North
