TNS Classification Report No. 2068 [ 2018TNSCR.712....1H ]
Date Received (UTC): 2018-05-26 07:00:10 Sender: Dr. Daichi Hiramatsu
Group: Global SN Project
Daichi Hiramatsu, Iair Arcavi, Jamison Burke, Griffin Hosseinzadeh, D. Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, Stefano Valenti report/s a classification of object: SN 2018bwv
Type: SN IaRedshift: 0.02377
Remarks: Using Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 1190) and SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find several good fits to normal Type Ia SNe around a week before maximum light at the redshift of the proposed host galaxy (z=0.024; Jones et al. 2009, "The 6dF Galaxy Survey Data Release 3," via NED). The narrow H_alpha line is likely to be host contamination.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2018-05-25 17:44:18
Instrument: FLOYDS-S
Telescope: Faulkes Telescope South
