Dong (KIAA-PKU)ASAS-SNSN II0.027ASAS-SNWe obtained an optical low-resolution spectrum of ASASSN-18ls/AT2018cez UT 2018 July 15 with WFCCD mounted on the du Pont 2.5m telescope at Las Campanas Observatory. The spectrum of ASASSN-18ls is that of a Type II supernova after maximum light. SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007) gives a best fit template spectrum of the fast-declining SN II 1979C at +72 days. The SNID redshift is z=0.027.
