Dong (KIAA-PKU)ASAS-SNSN II0.012378ASAS-SNWe obtained an optical low-resolution spectrum of supernovae candidates on UT 2018 July 15 with WFCCD mounted on the du Pont 2.5m telescope at Las Campanas Observatory. The spectrum of ASASSN-18lv/AT2018cgj is that of a Type IIP supernova after maximum light. SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007) gives a best fit age of +45.0 days after maximum light and z=0.012 as the redshift, consistent with the host galaxy redshift.
