Dong (KIAA-PKU)ASAS-SNSN II0.0229ASAS-SNWe obtained an optical low-resolution spectrum of supernovae candidates on UT 2018 July 14 with WFCCD mounted on the du Pont 2.5m telescope at Las Campanas Observatory. The spectrum of ASASSN-18om/AT2018ddx is that of a Type II supernova before maximum light, showing a blue continuum and broad/weak H-alpha in emission. SNID gives a best fit subtype SN IIb with an age of -7.4 days before maximum light and z=0.027 as the redshift. The redshift of the host galaxy is 0.0229 measured from the narrow H-alpha emission from the host.
