Discovery date: 2018-01-14 09:49:23 (JD=2458132.909294)

Potential host galaxy: NGC 6217

Remarks: P. Wiggins, Tooele, UT, USA, reports his discovery of a possible supernova (mag about 14.6) on an unfiltered CCD frame taken 2018 JAN 14 09:49:29 UT using a 0.35-m f/5.5 reflector near Erda, UT, USA. The new object is located at R.A. 16h32m39.31s, Decl. +78d11m53.36s (equinox 2000.0), about 114” NW of the center of NGC 6217. The discovery image was posted temporarily at URL http://users.wirelessbeehive.com/~paw/what.jpg. Wiggins notes that nothing was visible at this position on an image taken on JAN 04.
