Masayuki Yamanaka report/s a classification of object: SN 2018ivc

Type: SN II
Redshift: 0.00379

Remarks: We obtained the low-resolution spectrum of AT 2018ivc using the HOWPol attached to the 1.5-m Kanata telescope on Nov. 24.6 in 2018. The spectrum exhibits the featureless blue continuum, suggesting that this SN is classified as a young core collapse SN. GELATO (Harutyunyan et al., 2008, A&A, 488, 383) suggests that this SN is similar to that of Type II SN 2009bw at 4 days after the explosion date.

The following Classification spectrum was provided:

Obsdate: 2018-11-24 14:24:00
