Date Received (UTC): 2019-07-10 17:00:00 Sender: Dr. Daniel Perley
Group: ZTF
Daniel Perley (LJMU), Lin Yan (Caltech), Ragnhild Lunnan (Stockholm), Avishay Gal-Yam, Steve Schulze, Ofer Yaron (Weizmann) report/s a classification of object: SN 2019avv
Type: SLSN-IIRedshift: 0.2207
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2019-07-02 09:52:32
Instrument: LRIS
Telescope: Keck I 10m
Remarks: Spectrum shows strong intermediate-width H-alpha in emission and no other features. Earlier spectra with DBSP close to peak light showed only a blue continuum, suggesting a possible alternative classification as a SLSN-I with late H-alpha emission (e.g. Yan et al. 2017, ApJ 848, 6).
