G. Dimitriadis, M. R. Siebert, C. D. Kilpatrick, C. Rojas-Bravo, R. J. Foley (UCSC), M. Rich (UCLA) report/s a classification of object: SN 2019ehk

Type: SN
Redshift: 0.005

Remarks: The spectrum is red and nearly featureless. There is a strong (EW ~ 4.5 A) Na D doublet, indicating significant dust absorption. Dereddening by an appropriate amount to match the Na D absorption strength suggests that the intrinsic SED is quite blue. There is a weak feature close to H alpha. Assuming the feature is H alpha, we measure an expansion velocity of -10,000 km/s. The spectrum is consistent with a young core-collapse SN. Additional observations are needed to determine its precise classification. ATel 12707
