Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, Stefano ValentiGlobal SN ProjectSN IIn0.005891Global SN ProjectThe narrow H emission lines at the host redshift (z= 0.005891; 2004AJ….128…16K, via NED) and the V-band absolute magnitude of -16 at 2019-05-09 10:52:10 UT suggest a Type IIn, which is in agreement with Uddin et al. (ATel #12736).

On UT May 6, 2019, we obtained spectra of the optical transient AT2019esa located in the nearby galaxy ESO 035-G018 (z=0.006) with the Wide Field Spectrograph (WiFeS - Dopita et al., 2007, ApSS, 310, 255) on board 2.3m ANU telescope at Siding Spring Observatory. We classify the transient as a Type IIn Supernova (SN IIn) by cross-correlating with a library of supernova spectra using GELATO (Harutyunyan et al., 2008, A&A, 488, 383).
