A Do, M A Tucker, A V Payne, M E Huber, B J Shappee (IfA UH Manoa) report/s a classification of object: SN 2019opx

Type: SN Ia
Redshift: 0.087874

Remarks: Strong silicon absorption feature at host redshift indicates a type Ia-norm supernova. SNID also finds fits with type Ib and IIb supernovae two weeks before maximum light at z~0.6-0.8. Detection by Pan-STARRS1 on Aug 24th rules those classifications out.

The following Classification spectrum was provided:

Obsdate: 2019-09-09 12:04:01
Instrument: SNIFS
Telescope: UH 88inch

Remarks: Reduced with a summit-based quick reduction pipeline. Blue channel was unavailable. Exposure time was supposed to be 3600s, but closed after 1500s due to cloud cover.
