Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, Craig PellegrinoGlobal SN ProjectSN Ia0.017519Global SN ProjectUsing Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 1190) and SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find several good fits to normal SNe Ia approximately one week before max. The redshift range reported in the fits is consistent with the NED value of the redshift for the probable host (UGC 02614; z = 0.017519). Assuming the distance modulus calculated from this redshift, the B-band absolute magnitude coeval with the spectrum is approximately -18.1, consistent with a Ia at this phase. We measure a Si II velocity of approximately 14,500 km/s, and a Ca II velocity of approximately 13,000 km/s. These velocities are unusual since for typical SNe Ia the Ca II velocity is higher, so further followup is encouraged.
