Date Received (UTC): 2019-10-15 15:48:30 Sender: Adam Kawash
Group: None
Adam Kawash report/s a classification of object: AT 2019sgf
Type: CV
Remarks: Spectrum is that of a dwarf nova in outburst and suggests the progenitor system be a magnetic CV, consistent with the conclusions from ATels 13176 and 13190.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2019-10-10 09:31:56
Instrument: BC-OSU
Telescope: MDM 2.4m Hiltner
Remarks: The spectrum is dominated by Balmer and He I lines. Halpha and Hbeta show a narrow emission on top of an absorption, typical for a dwarf nova outburst. We also identify He II 4686 in emission which indicates that the progenitor system might be a magnetic CV, consistent with the conclusions from ATels 13176 and 13190.
