Type: SN II
Redshift: 0.0476

Remarks: The spectrum shows a relatively featureless, blue continuum with broad He II emission superimposed, characteristic of a young Type II supernova. A weak, narrow He II emission line is also detected, suggesting long-lasting flash ionisation of a surrounding CSM. The appearance of the spectrum is consistent with the phase of 7d after explosion estimated from the ZTF and ATLAS light curves. At an absolute magnitude of -18.4 as inferred from our V-band acquisition image, the SN is very bright for a SN II.

The following Classification spectrum was provided:

Obsdate: 2019-10-31 02:19:27
Instrument: FORS2
