Jamison Burke, Iair Arcavi, Daichi Hiramatsu, D. Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, Stefano Valenti report/s a classification of object: SN 2019yz

Type: SN Ic
Redshift: 0.00639

Remarks: Using Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 1190) and SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find good fits to several Type Ic supernovae at the redshift of the host galaxy (z=0.00639; value from NED but in agreement with fits). The best-fit phase is +5 days, which is corroborated by the 10 day non-detection listed in the discovery report by Fremling et al. We measure a Ca II velocity of -15,000 km/s and Fe II velocity of -12,000 km/s.
