Type: SN II
Redshift: 0.012255

Remarks: Using Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 1190) and SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find best fits to SNe II more than a week after explosion. This is consistent with the forced photometry lightcurve and last non-detection on 2020-01-03.65 from ATLAS (Astronote 2020-23). The spectrum displays a strong Hα P Cygni profile consistent with an old SN II, with an additional narrow emission component consistent with the NGC 3836's redshift (z = 0.012208; 1987A&AS...68..427R, value from NED).
