There are good fits to SN 2005cf at approximately two weeks before max. The supernova is closest to 2MASX J14533002+1717275 (z = 0.04417, Ahumada et al. 2019; value from SDSS DR16). Assuming this redshift we measure a Si II velocity of approximately 19,000 km/s from the 6355 line and a Ca II velocity of approximately 22,000 km/s from the NIR triplet. The r-band absolute magnitude roughly coeval with the spectrum is approximately -16.8 (apparent magnitude 19.7). The absolute magnitude, high velocities, and spectral fits all indicate the SN is young. Further followup is encouraged.
