Remarks: F. Castellani, Verona, Italy reports the discovery by Flavio Castellani, Raffaele Belligoli and Claudio Marangoni, in the course of the ISSP Italian Supernovae Search Project, of an apparent nova PNV J00425218+4113370 in two images taken with a Moravian G4-9000 KAF CCD unfiltered, from Monte Baldo Observatory (Ferrara di Monte Baldo, Verona, Italy), with the 0.4m f.8 Ritchey-Chrétien telescope, obtained on 2020 March 15.767. The new object is located at RA 00 42 52.18 DEC +41 13 37.0 (equinox 2000.0) Apparent magnitude 17.4 Clear (err +/- 0,2) in host Galaxy M31. Offset 88.5"E 152.3"S Nothing is visible at this position on the reference image taken on 2020-02-28.769

Photometry

Discovery (first detection):
Discovery date: 2020-03-15 18:24:28.800
Flux: 17.4 STMag
Filter: Clear-
Instrument: Other
Telescope: Other

Remarks: The possible nova was clearly detected on '2020-03-15.767' UT using two images 3x300s frames (900s total) obtained by a Moravian G4-9000 KAF unfiltered CCD with the 0.4m f.8 Ritchey-Chrétien telescope from Monte Baldo "A.Gelodi" Astronomic Observatory, località Novezzina, Ferrara di Monte Baldo, Verona, Italy. The discovery magnitude is 17.0±0.04 mag in the CV band (clear visual). We will continue to monitor the nova light curve and strongly encourage additional follow-up observations.

Last non-detection:
