CartierNone tns_2020ga_2020-01-07_08-48-21_CTIO-4m_COSMOS.asciObjectThe spectrum is consistent with a nearby SN Ia a few days before maximum heavily contaminated by host galaxy and with strong absorptions from Ca II H&K and Na D1 & D2 at the host galaxy redshift, indicative of significant host extinction in the line of sight. This is consistent with the SN being a nuclear transient. The reported distances to the host varies from 25 to 40 Mpc.
