TNS Astronomical Transient Report No. 75598 [ 2020TNSTR2017....1P ]
Date Received (UTC): 2020-07-02 12:24:44
Sender: Dr. Ismael Perez-Fournon
Reporting Group: SGLF Discovery Data Source: ZTF
F. Poidevin, I. Perez-Fournon, C. Jimenez Angel, R. Shirley (IAC & ULL), R. Marques-Chaves (CAB), S. Geier (GRANTECAN & IAC), Y. Shu (IoA), S. Rodney, J. Roberts-Pierel (Univ. of South Carolina), A. Bolton (NSF's NOIRLab), S. Chakrabarti, P. Craig, and B. Alamiri (RIT) report/s the discovery of a new astronomical transient.
IAU Designation: AT 2020nwa
Discoverer internal name: ZTF20abhfypy
Coordinates (J2000): RA = 22:11:06.695 (332.777896) DEC = +00:18:11.54 (0.303206)
Discovery date: 2020-06-14 09:19:37.000 (JD=2459014.8886227)
Potential host galaxy: SDSS J221106.87+001809.8
Host redshift: 0.175328
Remarks: The transient is possibly associated with SDSS J221106.87+001809.8, a blend in the SDSS imaging of a galactic star and a star-forming galaxy at z=0.175328. The two available SDSS spectra include emission from the star and emission lines from the starforming galaxy. https://dr16.sdss.org/optical/spectrum/view?plateid=4200&mjd=55499&fiberid=655 https://dr16.sdss.org/optical/spectrum/view?mjd=52822&fiberid=587&plateid=1033 Data were provided by the Zwicky Transient Facility (https://www.ztf.caltech.edu) and processed through the Lasair (https://lasair.roe.ac.uk), ALeRCE (https://alerce.online), ANTARES (https://antares.noirlab.edu), and MARS (https://mars.lco.global) brokers.
