Type: SN IIRedshift: 0.0458
Remarks: An optical spectrum of SN 2020zs, obtained on the night of 2020 January 17 with the ESO Very Large Telescope UT1 equipped with the FORS2 spectrograph and grism 300V, shows a blue continuum with prominent P-Cygni lines of hydrogen and helium superimposed. Weak lines of Fe II are already visible. From the spectroscopic appearance and the photometric constraints, we estimate a phase about 2 weeks after explosion.
