192016-01-19 16:28:11iairI. Arcavi, G. Hosseinzadeh, D. A. Howell, C. McCully (LCOGT/UCSB)LCOGT SN-KPSN Ia0.0451LCOGT SN-KPWe obtained a spectrum of AT 2016D on 2016 January 17.5 UT with the LCOGT robotic FLOYDS instrument mounted on the Faulkes Telescope South. Using Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 119) and SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find good fits to a Type Ia supernova 2-3 weeks after maximum light at the redshift of the host galaxy (z=0.045; Huchra et al. 2012, ApJS, 199, 26). A similar classification (obtained with different data) was first reported by Hounsell et al. (2016, ATel 8546). We find the spectrum to be highly reddened with E(B-V) ~ 1.1. Correcting for some of the host galaxy contamination we find that the SN magnitude is V~18.7 (corresponding to an absolute magnitude of -17.8 at the observed redshift).

6242016-12-06 13:14:25jlprietoE. Falco, P. Challis, R. Kirshner, P. Berlind, M. Calkins, J. L. Prieto, K. Z. StanekASAS-SNSN Ia0.0121ASAS-SNOptical spectra (range 350-760nm) of the supernova candidates ASASSN-16dm/2016blb (ATel #8882), ASASSN-16dn/2016blc (ATel #8885), and ASASSN-16dp/2016bli (ATel #8892), were obtained on UT 2016 April 2 with the F. L. Whipple Observatory 1.5-m telescope (+ FAST). Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the "Supernova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) indicates the following matches. ASASSN-16dm is a Type II-P SN near peak (best match is SN 2006bp at +3 days), ASASSN-16dn is normal Type Ia SN before maximum light at z=0.012 +/- 0.003 (from SN lines, no host galaxy lines are detected; best match is SN 2007A at -3 days), and ASASSN-16dp is a Type Ia SN about a week after maximum (best match is SN 1999ef at +7 days). After correcting the spectra of ASASSN-16dn and ASASSN-16dp by the redshift of their host galaxies, we measure Si II 635.5nm expansion velocities of 10600 km/s and 11900 km/s, respectively.

StanekASAS-SNCV1ASAS-SNAn optical spectrum (range 350-760nm) of the supernova candidate ASASSN-16gs/AT2016cyq was obtained on UT 2016 July 8.31 with the F. L. The spectrum shows a blue continuum with Balmer lines in absorption (H-beta EW~9 Angstroms, FWHM ~ 3000 km/s) at redshift z=0 (v_helio ~ -100 km/s), consistent with a Galactic CV in outburst.

5632016-11-07 19:44:51mfraserG. Cannizzaro, on behalf of NUTSNUTSSN II0.0221NUTSPreviously classified by Pan et al. as a Type IIb SN (ATel #9696). The spectrum is relatively flat in the continuum, and shows broad, P-Cygni profiles in Halpha, and Ca lines. The minimum of the absorption in Halpha is at a velocity of ~14,000 km/s, and the spectrum is consistent with a Type II SN a few weeks after explosion. The absolute magnitude (-17.5) is relatively bright for a Type IIP SN, but is consistent with other IIb SNe.

We cannot confirm the find with another observatory and the remotely controlled ones aren't available at the time writing this report so follow up observations are needed. There is no known object at the specific coordinates in the TNS database nor any comets/asteroids reported from MPChecker during the time of observation. The object follows the convolution pattern of the local seeing conditions and doesn't appear to move between the three 15sec exposures made and cannot be found in any survey images from DSS. Star catalogue USNO A2 doesn't show any known stars at the coordinates of the suspect either.

ArcaviLCOGT SN-KPSN Ia0.0039991LCOGT SN-KPThe spectrum is consistent with a SN Ia 2 weeks or more before maximum light at the redshift of the host galaxy (z=0.004; Koribalski et al. 2004, AJ, 128, 16). High velocity SiII is seen at 23,000 km/s, stronger than the main component. Using Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 1190), we find a good fit to SN 1999aa, at -11d, though AT 2017cby appears to be observed even earlier.

McCullyGlobal SN ProjectSN Ia-91bg-like0.0098671Global SN ProjectUsing the Supernova Identification code (SNID, Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J., 666, 1024), we find a good fit to both normal and 91bg-like SNe Ia one week before maximum. Given the redshift of its host (z=0.009867, NGC4696 via NED), SN2017ejb appears faint (R = -15.9) for normal SNe Ia. Given the low luminosity of SN2017ejb and its remote location, further observations are encouraged.

YamanakaNone tns_2018pv_2018-02-08.7_Kanata_HOWPol.txtObjectThe spectrum resembles with that of a normal Type Ia supernova (SN Ia) at the pre-maximum stage. Using the automatic SN classification tool, GELATO (Harutyunyan et al., 2008, A&A, 488, 383), the spectrum would be similar to that of SN 1992A at the 5 days before maximum. We identified the absorption lines of the CaII IR triplet, OI 7774, SiII 6355, SiII 5972, SII W-shape feature, and Fe II multiplet in our spectrum. The CaII IR triplet, OI 7774, and SiII 6355 line velocities were measured to be ~16500, ~16500, and ~13000 km/s, respectively. The SiII 5972 absorption line was significantly deeper than that of SN 1992A, suggesting that this SN might be a more subluminous event. We measured the equivalent width (EW) of the NaID line as to 0.9 angstrom, suggesting that the host galactic extinction could be very large (A_V~0.5-2.0). Even if the extinction is corrected for, this SN could be still in the rising phase. Follow-up observations could be encouraged.
