The object was classified via cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the "SuperNova IDentification" code (SNID; Blondin & Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) including the updated templates of Silverman et al. (2012 MNRAS, 425, 1789) and Liu & Modjaz (2014 arXiv:1405.1437). We find that AT2016cyw is a Type IIP supernova likely several months post-explosion. AndersonNoneSN Ia0.020721While looking at archival VIMOS data of SN host galaxies in the ESO archive, we found that one of the observations of NGC 0692 had a bright source that was not present in archival DSS images. We extracted a 2-arcsec aperture spectrum (4850-10000 A) at that location, and it clearly showed the main features of a type Ia supernovae at maximum light (S II W, Si II 5972 A, and Si II 6355 A). Host galaxy emission lines were superposed to the SN spectrum, and we measured a redshift of 0.02072 from H-alpha (in agreement with the galaxy redshift reported in NED, 0.02118). We estimate a Si II 6355 velocity of 12100 km/s. Comparing the SN spectrum with templates of several SNe of different types, GELATO (Harutyunyan et al., 2008, A&A, 488, 383) found the best fit to SNIa 2005am at +2.7 days past B-band maximum.2019TNSCR.158....1G

The spectrum is similar to that of a type-IIP supernova at a few days after explosion. Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the "Supernova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) shows that it matches with SN 2004et at t = +6 days since the explosion. Given a recession velocity of 4467 km/s for the host galaxy UGC 09450, an expansion velocity of about 8500 km/s can be deduced from the H-alpha absorption minimum.2016TNSCR..21....1X

The spectrum is consistent with a Type Ia supernova at around maximum light. Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the "Supernova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, ApJ. 666, 1024) shows that it matches with SN 2003du at t = -1 days. Adopting a redshift of 0.0307 for its host galaxy NGC 1562, an expansion velocity of about 11,500 km/s can be derived from the absorption minimum of Si II 635.5 nm. 2016TNSCR..25....1Z

The spectrum (390-990nm) was obtained on UT 2016 Jan. 12.3 with the LDSS3 mounted to the Clay telescope at Las Campanas Observatory. The object is similar to that of a type-II supernova at a few weeks post-explosion, clearly showing H-alpha and H-beta absorptions and strong Fe lines characteristic of this SN type. Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ 666, 1024) gives a best match to SN 2006bp at +34 days since explosion. Correcting for the redshift of its host galaxy, PGC 26383 (0.011208), its expansion velocity is around 7780 km/s measured from the H-alpha absorption minimum.2016TNSCR..57....1G

ATEL #8651) based on a visual-wavelength spectrum obtained on Feb. 9.2 UT with the 2.5-m du Pont Telescope (+ WFCCD) at LCO. The spectrum exhibits prevalent Na-I D absorption at the redshift of NGC 5128 characterized by an equivalent width of 0.44-nm. An additional feature coincident with the 578.0-nm diffuse interstellar band is measured to have an equivalent width of 0.06-nm, suggesting an A(V) value between 2 to 4 mag (Phillips et al. 2013, ApJ, 779, 38). Given the significant reddening the blue portion of the spectrum has very low signal-to-noise, however discernible features are present in the red portion of the spectrum that we attribute to H-alpha, the Ca-II near-infrared triplet, and Mg-II 922.7-nm. After manually de-reddening the spectrum assuming E(B-V)=1.0 and Rv=3.1 and then using the spectral identification tool superfit (Howell et al, 2005, ApJ, 634, 119), we find the spectrum of AT 2016adj to best resemble the Type-Ib supernova 1999dn around a week past maximum. This is in contrast to the Type II supernova classification previously reported (cf. ATEL #8655). Furthermore, close inspection of the spectrum reveals shallow absorption features at the expected wavelengths of He-I 667.8-nm and He-I 706.5-nm. Further observations are warranted to secure this classification. In addition, optical photometry was also computed from multiple images taken on Feb. 9.2 UT under photometric conditions with the 1-m Swope Telescope (+ e2v CCD camera) located at LCO.
