Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, Stefano ValentiLCOGT SN-KPSN Ia0.031LCOGT SN-KPUsing Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 1190), we find good fits to several normal Type Ia supernovae about a week before maximum light at the redshift of the host galaxy (z=0.03, derived from the narrow H-alpha line in the spectrum), but with fits as early as -15 days and as late as -1 day. The 0.5 mag/day rise from ASAS-SN favors an earlier phase, while the current absolute magnitude (M_V ~ -19 mag) favors a phase closer to peak.

Cross-correlation with a library of SN spectra using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024) shows that ASASSN-16az/AT2016za is a normal Type Ia at +10 days.

Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, Stefano ValentiGlobal SN ProjectSN Ia0.0421Global SN ProjectUsing Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 1190) and SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find good fits to several normal Type Ia SNe about 2-3 weeks after maximum at the inferred redshift of 0.042 (no host redshift measurement is available on NED). We measure a Si II 6355 velocity of -7,000 km/s.

667152015-04-11 03:03:2919.93ABMagg-SloanCTIO-4m_DECAM79The Apparent Magnitude was calculated with APT by Melina Thévenot, using SDSS J115326.35-001813.2, see http://skyserver.sdss.org/dr15/en/tools/explore/Summary.aspx?ra=178.3598&dec=-0.3035. An Absolute Magnitude of -19.01 was also calculated. The transient also appears in HSC images at a later date (2015-05-19 Y-band, 2015-05-23 z-band), but it is very faint in these images and measuring the flux is difficult for these images.

It was discovered serendipitously when attempting to observe 2017cms with SNIFS. I've also guessed its magnitude based on its similarity to 2017cms.
