102016-01-14 02:03:56jujiaYuxin Xin, Jujia ZhangNoneSN IIP0.01491We obtained an optical spectrum (range 350-900 nm) of AT 2016I (ASASSN-16ai, ATel#8537) on UT 2016 Jan. 13.93 with the Li-Jiang 2.4 m telescope (LJT + YFOSC) at Li-Jiang observatory of Yunnan Observatories. The spectrum is similar to that of a type-IIP supernova at a few days after explosion. Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the "Supernova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) shows that it matches with SN 2004et at t = +6 days since the explosion. Given a recession velocity of 4467 km/s for the host galaxy UGC 09450, an expansion velocity of about 8500 km/s can be deduced from the H-alpha absorption minimum.

The spectrum features a blue continuum with prominent P-Cygni lines of H and He. Cross-correlation of the spectrum with a template library using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024) shows a good match to the type-IIP SN 2014et at -3 days, confirming the results of Hosseinzadeh et al. (ATel 8748). The host redshift of z = 0.004 from numerous narrow interstellar emission lines yields an expansion velocity for the supernova of 10,700 km/s, measured to the trough of the H-alpha line. Andrew Howell, Iair Arcavi, Stefano Valenti, Curtis McCullyLCOGT SN-KPSN II0.0152LCOGT SN-KPThe spectra show blue continua with weak broad features. By assuming a diffuse feature in the 2D spectral frames is H-alpha, we derive a redshift of approximately z=0.015. With this redshift, the broad features in the supernova spectra are consistent with the hydrogen Balmer series with P Cygni profiles. We therefore classify the transient as a young Type II supernova.

Cross-correlation with a template library using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024) shows 2016asf to be a normal type-Ia supernova approximately 10 days pre-maximum light. StanekASAS-SNSN Ia0.0121ASAS-SNOptical spectra (range 350-760nm) of the supernova candidates ASASSN-16dm/2016blb (ATel #8882), ASASSN-16dn/2016blc (ATel #8885), and ASASSN-16dp/2016bli (ATel #8892), were obtained on UT 2016 April 2 with the F. L. Whipple Observatory 1.5-m telescope (+ FAST). Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the "Supernova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) indicates the following matches. ASASSN-16dm is a Type II-P SN near peak (best match is SN 2006bp at +3 days), ASASSN-16dn is normal Type Ia SN before maximum light at z=0.012 +/- 0.003 (from SN lines, no host galaxy lines are detected; best match is SN 2007A at -3 days), and ASASSN-16dp is a Type Ia SN about a week after maximum (best match is SN 1999ef at +7 days). After correcting the spectra of ASASSN-16dn and ASASSN-16dp by the redshift of their host galaxies, we measure Si II 635.5nm expansion velocities of 10600 km/s and 11900 km/s, respectively.

1892016-04-11 20:45:40jlprietoJ. L. Prieto, B. J. ShappeeNoneSN Ia0.029971The spectrum shows characteristics of a (likely peculiar) Type Ia supernova. Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the "Supernova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024) and chi2-by-eye shows that the best matches are the spectra of SN2007if ("super-chandra") and SN2002ic (Ia-CSM) a few days after max, but there are also reasonably good matches with some SN1991T-like SNe. After correcting the spectrum for the redshift of the host galaxy (z=0.02997 from 6dF), we measure a Si II 635.5nm expansion velocity of ~12000 km/s.

Using the redshift 0.034 (suggested by SNID), from the position of the minimum of the Si II 635nm feature, we infer an expansion velocity of ~12600 km/s for the ejected material.

We performed a cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the "Supernova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024). The spectrum of ASASSN-16jq is that of a normal Type Ia at -1 days before maximum light. The SNID redshift from the SN features is 0.024 +/- 0.005.

Although the redshift is consistent with that of Maffei 2 (z=-0.000057; Hau et al. 1995, MNRAS, 227, 125, via NED), the narrow lines indicate that this is most likely a Galactic variable star and not a supernova.
