Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the "Supernova Identification" code (Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) indicates that 2014ch is most similar to the peculiar type-Ia supernova 2003fg at 2 days post-maximum light.

StanekASAS-SNSN Ia1ASAS-SNOptical spectra (range 350-760nm) of the supernova candidate ASASSN-16hc/AT2016czc was obtained on UT 2016 July 8.2 with the F. L. Whipple Observatory 1.5-m telescope (+ FAST). Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the "Supernova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) indicates that ASASSN-16hc is a SN1991T-like Type Ia SN at a few days before maximum light.
