Using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007) to do cross-correlation with a library of SN spectra, we find that the spectrum is consistent with a young SN1991T-like Type Ia supernova at phase -6 +/- 2 days and at redshift z=0.072 +/- 0.004.

Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the "Supernova Identification" code (Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) indicates that 2011eg is most similar to the type-II-plateau supernova 2004et at 4 days past maximum light. A second spectrogram taken on July 28.35 shows 2011eg to be a type-IIp supernova most similar to SN 1999em within several weeks of maximum light.

Hsiao, Aarhus University, report that a spectrogram (range 369-700 nm, resolution 0.3 nm) of PSN J14354590+2443179 = SN 2014bg, obtained on June 6.36 UT with the 1.82-m Plaskett Telescope of the National Research Council of Canada, shows it to be a type-Ia supernova near maximum light. Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the "Supernova Identification" code (Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) indicates that 2014bg is most similar to the type-Ia supernova 2003du at 1 day post-maximum light.

Cross-correlation with a template library using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024) shows 2016asf to be a normal type-Ia supernova approximately 10 days pre-maximum light. We find a good fit to the template of SN 2003du at T = -10 days. Our fit yields a redshift of z = 0.021. Using the presumed redshift of z=0.021 we measure an expansion velocity for the Si II (rest 635.5 nm) feature of 14,000 km/s.
