6262016-12-06 13:43:40jlprietoS. Frank (OSU), J. L. Prieto (UDP/MAS), K. Z. Stanek (OSU)ASAS-SNSN Ia1ASAS-SNWe report optical spectroscopic observations of ASASSN-16bx/2016ajk (ATel #8712) and ASASSN-16cy/2016ayf (ATel #8801) obtained by S. Frank on UT 2016 March 14-15 with OSMOS (range 398-686 nm) mounted on the MDM 2.4m telescope at KPNO. We used SNID (Blondin & Tonry, 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024) to aid with the type and phase of the SN spectra. ASASSN-16bx is a Type Ia SN about one month after peak brightness (best fit SNID template is SN1999gd at +34 days) and ASASSN-16cy is a normal Type Ia a couple days before maximum (best fit SNID template is SN2002de at -4 days). After correcting the spectrum of ASASSN-16cy for its host galaxy redshift (z=0.034811), we measure a expansion velocity from the Si II 635.5nm line of 12600 km/s.

Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, Stefano ValentiLCOGT SN-KPSN IIb0.0091LCOGT SN-KPUsing Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 119) and SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find a good fit to the Type IIb SN 1997dd at maximum light at the redshift of the proposed host galaxy (z=0.009; Mathewson, Ford, & Buchhorn 1992, ApJS, 81, 413, via NED). The helium lines at 588 and 707 nm are clearly observed, with P Cygni minima corresponding to a velocity of ~7000 km/s. The helium line at 668 nm may also be present at the same velocity but blended with narrow H-alpha emission from the host.

6232016-12-06 13:11:58jlprietoE. Falco, P. Challis, R. Kirshner, P. Berlind, M. Calkins, J. L. Prieto, K. Z. StanekASAS-SNSN Ia1ASAS-SNOptical spectra (range 350-760nm) of the supernova candidates ASASSN-16dm/2016blb (ATel #8882), ASASSN-16dn/2016blc (ATel #8885), and ASASSN-16dp/2016bli (ATel #8892), were obtained on UT 2016 April 2 with the F. L. Whipple Observatory 1.5-m telescope (+ FAST). Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the "Supernova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) indicates the following matches. ASASSN-16dm is a Type II-P SN near peak (best match is SN 2006bp at +3 days), ASASSN-16dn is normal Type Ia SN before maximum light at z=0.012 +/- 0.003 (from SN lines, no host galaxy lines are detected; best match is SN 2007A at -3 days), and ASASSN-16dp is a Type Ia SN about a week after maximum (best match is SN 1999ef at +7 days). After correcting the spectra of ASASSN-16dn and ASASSN-16dp by the redshift of their host galaxies, we measure Si II 635.5nm expansion velocities of 10600 km/s and 11900 km/s, respectively.

Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, Stefano ValentiLCOGT SN-KPSN Ia0.0191LCOGT SN-KPUsing SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find good fits to several Type Ia supernovae, both normal and 91T-like, at the redshift of the proposed host galaxy (z=0.019; Jones et al. 2009, "The 6dF Galaxy Survey Data Release 3," via NED). The spectrum is relatively red, probably due to significant host extinction.

The temperature of ASASSN-16mx is between 35,000 and 45,000 as measured from a blackbody fit, consistent with a CV in outburst. We note that the transient is at relatively high latitude (-49 deg).

The spectrum shows that ASASSN-16nn is a Type Ia SN at maximum light. We cross-correlated the spectrum with a library of supernova spectra using the "Supernova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) and the spectrum of ASASSN-16nn is most consistent with a normal SN Ia at -1 days. The SNID redshift from the SN features is 0.032.

8822017-03-30 20:31:20jlprietoJ. L. Prieto, E. FalcoASAS-SNSN Ia1ASAS-SNWe obtained a spectrum of ASASSN-17ee/AT2017ckx on UT 2017 March 29 with FAST mounted on the FLWO 1.5m telescope. The spectrum is that of a normal SN Ia around maximum light with strong host-galaxy contamination. Using SNID, the best-fit template is SN2003ic at -4 days with respect to B-band maximum light.
