StanekASAS-SNSN Ia1ASAS-SNOptical spectra (range 350-760nm) of the supernova candidate ASASSN-16hc/AT2016czc was obtained on UT 2016 July 8.2 with the F. L. Whipple Observatory 1.5-m telescope (+ FAST). Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the "Supernova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) indicates that ASASSN-16hc is a SN1991T-like Type Ia SN at a few days before maximum light.

Hbeta shows a FWHM of ~1500km/s, which is compatible with the characteristics of a Narrow-Line Seyfert 1 galaxy. Following Berton et al. 2015, A&A, 578, 28, we infer a black hole mass of ~10^7 Msun. Cheng (KIAA-PKU)ASAS-SNSN Ia1ASAS-SNWe obtained an optical spectrum (range 3900-6850 Angstroms) of ASASSN-18bi/AT2018ko on UT 2018 Jan 31.3 with OSMOS mounted on the MDM 2.4m telescope at KPNO. The spectrum is that of a normal Type Ia around maximum light. SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007) give a best-fit age of -1 days and redshift consistent with the host galaxy redshift reported in NED.

2162016-05-09 18:16:56DAO_OTSDave BalamDAO_OTSSN IIP0.0181DAO_OTSA spectrum was obtained on UT May 09.36 of AT2016ccm in IC 983 using the 1.82-m Plaskett telescope (National Research Council of Canada) covering the range 365-710 nm (resolution 0.35 nm). Cross-correlation with a template library using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024) shows AT2016ccm to be a core-collapse supernova approximately 1 week post maximum light. We find a fit to the template of (SN IIp) 2006bp at 7 days past maximum. Our solution yields a host redshift of z=0.017. The apparent host is IC983 with a published redshift (NED) of z=0.018.

Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, Stefano ValentiGlobal SN ProjectSN Ia0.0191Global SN ProjectUsing Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 1190), we find good fits to several Type Ia supernovae 0-2 weeks before maximum light at a redshift of the proposed host galaxy (z=0.019; Falco et al. 1999, PASP, 111, 438 via NED). We measure a Si II velocity of about 16,000 km/s, implying the supernova was discovered soon after explosion, but the absolute magnitude at discovery was about -19, implying it was discovered near maximum light. Together, these could either indicate a young overluminous supernova or a high-velocity supernova at peak.
