Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, Stefano ValentiGlobal SN ProjectSN II0.0207841Global SN ProjectUsing SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find good fits to several Type II supernovae around the redshift of the proposed host galaxy (z=0.020784; Mathewson, Ford, and Buchhorn 1992, ApJS, 81, 413, via NED). Despite the age (a month since the discovery), the spectrum stays blue with relatively weak H features.

Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, Stefano ValentiGlobal SN ProjectSN Ia0.04351Global SN ProjectUsing Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 1190) and SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find good fits to several Type Ia supernovae about a month after the maximum light around the redshift of 0.0435 which was deduced from the narrow hydrogen line of the host galaxy. At the redshift of 0.0435, the absolute magnitude at the discovery was ~ -19 mag which is consistent with the Ia classification and its phase.

Dong (KIAA-PKU) ASAS-SNSN II0.0131ASAS-SNWe obtained an optical low-resolution spectrum of supernovae candidates on UT 2018 July 13-14 with WFCCD mounted on the du Pont 2.5m telescope at Las Campanas Observatory. The type determination and the age or redshift given, are implemented from SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007). The spectrum of ASASSN-18nu/AT2018cue is that of a Type IIP supernova after maximum light. SNID gives a best fit age of +18 days after maximum light and z=0.013 as the redshift.

The spectrum of ASASSN-18om/AT2018ddx is that of a Type II supernova before maximum light, showing a blue continuum and broad/weak H-alpha in emission. SNID gives a best fit subtype SN IIb with an age of -7.4 days before maximum light and z=0.027 as the redshift. The redshift of the host galaxy is 0.0229 measured from the narrow H-alpha emission from the host.

The spectrum of ASASSN-18ou/AT2018dfh is that of a Type II after maximum light. SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007) gives a best fit age of +8 days after maximum light. The spectrum shows characteristics of normal Type IIP in the plateau phase and Type IIn supernovae (including a narrow P-Cygni profile with v ~ -500 km/s on top of broad FWHM ~ 8000 km/s H-alpha line), with similarities to SN1996L (Benetti et al. 1999, MNRAS, 305, 811).

We identify some features as likely being He II 4686, H beta, He I 5876, and H alpha in emission. All lines have FWHM of ~12,000 km/s. Using a distance modulus of 34.4 mag to the host galaxy and correcting for MW extinction, the discovery magnitude corresponds to M = -18.5 mag, similar to other TDEs, but more luminous than most SNe II. From the confirmation image, the transient appears coincident with the nucleus of its host galaxy. ATel 11865
