Prieto (UDP/MAS)ASAS-SNSN Ia1ASAS-SNAn optical spectrum (range 3600-9000 Angstroms) of ASASSN-16km/AT2016ggb was obtained on UT 2016-09-13.3 with the B&C spectrograph mounted on the du Pont 2.5m telescope at Las Campanas Observatory. The spectrum is consistent with a Type Ia around peak heavily contaminated by the host galaxy light. After correcting for the redshift of the host galaxy, we measure a Si II 6355 expansion velocity of ~12000 km/s.

Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully, Stefano ValentiLCOGT SN-KPSN Ia0.0191LCOGT SN-KPUsing SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find good fits to several Type Ia supernovae, both normal and 91T-like, at the redshift of the proposed host galaxy (z=0.019; Jones et al. 2009, "The 6dF Galaxy Survey Data Release 3," via NED). The spectrum is relatively red, probably due to significant host extinction.
